statistical comparison between US higher education and religious people
now, this ofcourse isnt solid, but its funny how, according to census.gov, in 2002, about 12% of Americans have gained higher education. Coincidentally, 10% of Americans in the same year considered themselves not to be apart of any religious grouping. now, im not one to jump to conclusions, but too bad there isnt a pole that checks religion and education at the same time.. or else I would think it would be close to a 2% minority of educated religious people. so, could it be that 2% of educated religious people are representing 90% of undereducated religious people against the 10% secular and educated group?ofcourse, this isnt a very good question to ask as we cant really know if the educated people are all secular.. for all we know, all 12% could be religious (haha).. but my question is, do you think that there is a comparison between religious people and education?why are the numbers for education and for secularist groups so close?PS: mind you that out of the 90% of religious people, 78% of them are christian (protestant + catholic) and out of that population, 60% believe that the bible is the "word of god." PPS: also, a big error margin may be that these...

Collection of Data as statistical investigation
Collection of data consistitutes the first step in statistical investigation. It is only on the data collected that the super structure of statistical analysis and decision making is built. If the data collected are reliable, correct decisions can be taken, otherwise one may reach to the conclusions which may mislead. Before starting the work of data collection the investigator has to carry out preliminary analysis of the problem in question.

10 things the internet has ruined
http://www.cio.com/article/591042/10_Things_the_Internet_has_Ruined_and_Five_Things_it_Hasn_tHere are ten things the Net is making virtually extinct, plus five that have flourished.1. Trust in EncyclopediasWhen I was a kid, if something was in the Encyclopedia Britannica (or even Grolier's), it was true. Now--thanks to Wikipedia--having "encyclopedic knowledge" of a topic isn't as impressive when there's a good chance most of what you think you know was concocted by a 12-year-old. After a 2005 study by the British journal Nature showed Britannica and Wikipedia to be equally inaccurate, faith in all encyclopedias plummeted. Britannica attacked that study's methodology as "fatally flawed," but it was too late. Also dead: trust in studies of encyclopedias.2. Barroom ArgumentsIt used to be you could kill many hours and even more brain cells drinking beer and arguing over arcane trivia. Who was a more fearsome slugger, Babe Ruth or Hank Aaron? Who'd win a one-on-one match between Kobe Bryant and Doctor J? (Sorry Kobe--we love ya man, but in 1972 the Doc was unstoppable.) Now whenever there's a question of fact, somebody just whips out a smartphone and does a...
